Moving VMs from dev PC to spare PC or to Server 2019

Take care - on Windows 11 - config for Hyper-V is default 12 or 13!! For windows server 3019 - it is 9 !!

So start by creating an empty VM (no disks).

Create empty VM with configuration version 9.0 using powershell in admin mode.

New-VM -Name "Linux-1" -Generation 1 -MemoryStartupBytes 8GB -NoVHD -Version 9.0

For the Linux machines, we use generation 1.

Configure the Hyper-V virtual switches for first nic: Net33-1 192.168.33.x Linux-1 192.168.33.231 Linux-2 192.168.33.232 second nic Private 10.10.10.x Linux-1 10.10.10.1 Linux-2 10.10.10.2

Settings for the Linux machines The NIC order is important not to have to change anything on the Linux side. 6 processors starting memory is 8GB GENERATION 1

NO change needed in proxy or app VMs.
